Acting For TV & Film (Gr. 5-8)

If you've always wanted to be on television or on film, then
this class is for you! Through improvisation, students will gain
a better understanding of creating characters, working with a
script and having a great camera presence. Each term will present
different skill-building exercises and will continue to prepare
students for performing and auditioning. The class will produce
a short on-camera piece every semester and copies will be given
to each participant.

Acting 101 (Gr. 2-4)

This performance-based class is designed for the budding performer
who wants to learn more about acting in a fun and comfortable
class setting. Improvisation, script work, voice and movement
and theatre games make up this dynamic acting program. Students
are encouraged to join for more than one term as the class will
work together to create a different presentation at the end of
each session.

Acting 201 (Gr. 5-8)

Developing your performance and acting skills is not only important
for the future actor, but also essential for those who want to
dance, sing, direct, write or just work with people. In this
class, students will not only build their confidence level, but
they will develop and move their acting abilities to a higher
level. The class will delve into scripted work and character
study, using theatrical games, improvisation and voice and creative
movement. Each term, brings a different focus and a unique performance
piece to showcase to family and friends during the final class.

Improv 101 (Gr. 2-4)

"Whose line is it anyway?" It could be yours when
you enter this energetic, fun, scriptless class. Improvisation
teaches performers: how to create entertaining characters; to
develop storytelling techniques; to read and react to an audience.
And it teaches young actors to think quickly on the spot and
to trust in their natural creative instincts. Students will explore
dozens of different improv games, building their skills week
by week. This improv troupe will craft its own unique performance
each term.

Improv 201 (Gr. 5-8)

Are you ready for Second City or Saturday Night Live? You could
be if you have the tools to help you perform in sketch comedy
and improvisational style performances. Learning the language
of improv will help performers learn how to quickly create their
character, express themselves both physically and vocally, play
off the audience, think quickly on their feet and trust creative
instincts. Performers will explore dozens of improv games, building
their skills term after term. The troupe will design and perform
its own unique and high-energy performance at the end of each
term.

Vocal & Drama Studies for Teens (Gr. 7-12)

Designed for the young actor/singer who is beginning or continuing
formal lessons, this class will provide students with a supportive
environment in which they may develop and work on vocal and acting
techniques. Participants will work on monologues, scenes, improv,
group songs, as well as solo musical theatre pieces.
