Evan Hutchinson’s artistic path began through her love for art and the community engagement that blossoms from it. After completing her B.F.A. at Toronto Metropolitan University, Evan relocated to London, U.K. where she developed and facilitated art classes for the public within the historic walls of the Royal Academy of Arts. Once relocating to Canada, Evan returned to her practice of art making with others through leading art programs for low-income families, public and private schools in Ontario along with working in collaboration with independent organizations.
Evan’s independent art and teaching practice is rooted in multimedia, including drawing, painting, collage and lens based media. With an interest in human social and psychological behaviour, Evan explores and captures various forms of facilitated experimentation that attempt to question social, mental and emotional behaviour, socio-political events and the world around us.
