Artistic Liberation: Exploring Intuitive Expression

Outline

Do you have the desire to create art from an intuitive place, freeing your mind and artistic hand through creative practices? Making art is for everyone at any stage of their artistic practice. It is a language spoken by all and has the ability to transform us mentally and emotionally. This course is suited for all levels as we dive into the practice of creating art expressively and intuitively. Through painting and the incorporation of collage, you will be invited to open your mind and eyes to approaches, methods, conceptual and technical abilities in creating art unique to you. Over the span of 6 weeks, exercises will include shorter to longer prompts that give students the opportunity to be inspired by observation as well as explore abstraction. This course, led by Farida Zaman, is less about creating what you see and puts more emphasis on creating what you feel while connecting with the pure pleasure of art making.
