Collage Narratives: Self Expression Through Imagery

Outline

Collage is a versatile and expressive medium, offering a multitude of techniques and styles to self express and create.  In this workshop, students will be introduced to an array of papers, textures, and materials, allowing you to create compositions that are intuitive and unique.

With the guidance of Rachel Crummey, you'll be exposed to techniques and approaches in experimenting with the interplay of colours, juxtaposed images and layer textures to convey a myriad of emotions. As you explore various techniques, you'll find that collage serves as a powerful vehicle for self-expression, enabling you to communicate feelings through imagery, shape, colour, scale, composition, texture and layout.

By piecing together fragments in creating a whole, you'll witness the meditational qualities of collaging as a cathartic means of self-discovery. Every cut, tear, and placement becomes a deliberate choice, shaping a narrative.
