Drawing & Painting (Grades 4-8)
Outline
In this thoughtfully curated course, students will have the opportunity to delve into the world of art and explore a wide range of projects that celebrate art fundamentals and ignite their imagination.
Throughout the program, we'll guide your child through the essentials of drawing and painting, covering foundational concepts such as line, value, scale composition, colour theory and various media handling. Through engaging and interactive lessons, we'll demonstrate these concepts rooted in art history, using examples from art around the world, both past and present.
Led by Jessica Rysyk, the environment will nurture creativity and conceptual self-expression. We encourage each student to think beyond the canvas and embrace their unique voice through art. We'll introduce them to mixed media projects, encouraging them to combine different materials and techniques to create art that speaks to their individuality.
Each week, students will embark on exciting projects that range from classic still-life compositions to imaginative abstract explorations. They'll have the opportunity to experiment with various art materials, including pencils, pastels, watercolour, acrylics, and more, giving them a comprehensive understanding of artistic versatility and tools to embrace their inner creative voice.
