Independent Studies with Instruction
Outline
This art course is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with a broad range of skills and techniques to explore their creative abilities. The course is focused on drawing and painting media, open to working with oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, pen and ink, graphite, and charcoal.
Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to create a variety of piece(s), using various media to explore a range of styles and techniques while given a broad concept/theme to work around. Students will learn and explore how to use media of their choice effectively, open to creating detailed and representative pieces to more abstract and expressive styles.
The course will be taught by artist and ARAS Creative Director, Evan Hutchinson, who will provide personalized instruction and guidance to each student. The course is open to a maximum of 7 students, ensuring each student receives quality time and tuition and meaningful conversation with the instructor. Evan will be there to get to know each student’s practice, interests, goals and assist in developing their own style and technique, while also encouraging experimentation and creativity through collective learning.
Whether you are fairly new to creating or an advanced artist, this course offers a supportive and engaging environment in which to explore your creativity and develop your skills.
