Resin Art: Crafting Mini Sculptures

Art Toy Design & Making is an immersive and hands-on experience designed to introduce students to the fascinating world of art toy design right in the heart of Toronto. Guided by sculptural and resin-casting based artist, Jessica Rysyk, students will explore mould making and resin casting techniques in bringing their imaginative ideas to life by creating unique and personalised resin and plaster casted art toys!

Week 1: Introduction to art toy design, history, artists and key features. Group discussion on personal interests and the starting process of sketching ideas.

Week 2: Finalizing detailed sketches and beginning clay sculpting techniques. Consideration of shape, size and colour. 

Week 3: Completion of clay sculptures. Introduction of silicone mould making. 

Week 4: Fill moulds with Art Resin, customization with kinks and media. Introduction to plaster casts. 

Week 5: Bringing plaster casts to life through paint and embellishments. Final reveal and presentation of resin art toys. Enjoy the finished creations!
