Explore the captivating art of winter landscapes in "Watercolour Wonders: Winter Landscape Painting" course. Over the four-week program, students will be guided in depicting snow, ice, and other natural elements using watercolours. This comprehensive course covers essential elements like drawing, perspective, light, shadow, colour mixing, and various watercolour techniques to create diverse effects. From snowy Toronto streets to winter cabins and wildlife, students will embark on a journey in creating the atmospheric charm of the winter season.

This course is best suited to those with some experience.

● Watercolour Paints - tubes: required colours: cobalt blue, french ultramarine, cerulean blue, burnt sienna/umber, raw umber, cadmium red/yellow, yellow ochre, Payne's grey or neural tint, violet/purple or crimson. Chinese white or gouache white tube for highlights.
● Folding plastic palette for mixing colours and tube paints or pans ● Round watercolour brushes: #4, #6/8, #10/12
● Flat watercolour brushes: 1” or 1/2” flat brush
● Large mop/quill brush for large washes
● 9x12” 100% cotton, 300gsm acid free watercolour block (100% cotton is the most important thing - Strathmore, Fabriano, Winsor Cotman) Saunders waterford, Arches or Baohong watercolor paper recommended.
● Masking Fluid
● Pencils (3H or 4H) ● Pencil Sharpener ● Roll of paper towel ● Rag
● Water container
● Small sponge (sea silk preferred)
● Salt
● Plain sketchbook (can be small, quality doesn’t matter) ● Palette knife
● Spray bottle (with water inside)
● Hair dryer (optional)
● Tape (masking/washi/artist’s tape etc)

To participate in one of our virtual classes, you will require the following: A computer (laptop or desktop, with an internal microphone and camera) OR a newer model iPad, Tablet, iPhone or Smart Phone. Please make sure that you have hands-free capability, using a stand or tripod A stable WIFI connection The Zoom application (free when you sign up) Materials for the class that you registered for (see individual material lists provided for each class) A quiet work area for creating and participating in your class
