Draw it, Paint it, Make it is a fun and exciting mixed media course designed to spark the creativity and imagination of young artists from grades 4 - 10. Led by the talented Jessica Rysyk, this course offers a supportive and inspiring environment where youth students can dive into a wide range of art projects that celebrate art and encourage artistic expression. Each week, students will explore the essentials of drawing, painting, and sculptural arts, learning important skills like line, value, scale composition, colour theory, and how to handle different art materials. Interactive lessons will also introduce them to examples of art from around the world and throughout history.
Students will get to work on a variety of projects, from 2-dimensional pieces like still-life drawings to 3-dimensional creations. They’ll experiment with pencils, pastels, watercolour, acrylics, and more, discovering how to use these materials to create expressive work. This course encourages young artists to think outside the box, embrace their unique voices, and create art that truly reflects who they are.
