This hands-on course calls upon all young creators to delve into the world of art in exploring drawing and painting. Travel through the arts with us while we study artists from around the globe, drawing inspiration from artistic movements as well as creating from our unique imagination. Through guided demonstrations, one on one tuition and peer learning, students will unearth their inner creativity through unique thematic creations. Each week students will be exposed to new methods, techniques and art fundamentals to expand their artistic library in creating thoughtful pieces. Working from a variety of subject matter and various media, students will unleash their creativity, problem solve and further develop their creative confidence.

Discovering Art from Around the World
Students will learn about famous artists and art styles from different cultures, using these as inspiration to make their own fun and creative artwork.
Learning New Ways to Draw and Paint
Through guided practice and examples, students will try different ways to draw and paint, helping them learn new skills and have fun with art materials.
Building Confidence in Making Art
By creating their own special artwork, students will feel proud of their creativity and gain confidence in expressing their unique ideas.
Thinking Creatively and Solving Problems
Students will practice using their imagination to find new ways to create art and solve fun challenges as they work on different projects each week.

Fostering Creativity and Expression

Our art classes for kids nurture creativity and provide a platform for self-expression.

For this in-person course, Avenue Road Arts School will provide all necessary materials for all student projects.

Avenue Road Arts School works in compliance with COVID-19 health and safety requirements. Although masks are not mandated at this time, we strongly encourage students to wear a mask in situations where social distancing becomes not possible.

To enter the building of The Centre for Social Innovation at 720 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON M5S 2R4, you will be provided with a key code in the case that building’s front door is locked. This information will be provided to you closer to the start date of the course.
