The Art of Resin:
Encapsulating Spring Through Plaques (Ages 12+)
Celebrate spring with resin art! Join resin artist Jessica Rysyk in a hands-on workshop where you'll learn to cast your own decorative plaque using non-toxic materials and creative embellishments that capture the season’s vibrant essence.
Spring is here—let’s capture its essence in resin! Resin’s gleaming, glass-like finish and experimental qualities have made it a favorite in contemporary sculptural art. In this workshop, resin artist Jessica Rysyk will guide students through the process of resin casting, teaching them how to create their very own decorative plaque. Whether its used for function, such as coasters or paper weights, or for personal enjoyment, this workshop allows you to gain experience and explore resin art.
Students will explore non-toxic materials, resin mixing, and the casting process, while being introduced to the wide range of creative possibilities the medium offers. Through group demonstrations and individual guidance, Jessica will help you bring your vision to life, whether you choose to work with flowers, natural elements, or other small embellishments.
All materials will be provided by Avenue Road Arts School, but feel free to bring along your own 2D artwork or small embellishments to personalize your piece even further!
