Experimental Drawing
“Experimental Drawing” is a six-week virtual course dedicated to exploring contemporary techniques and sensory approaches to mark-making. Guided by Kirk Sutherland, an artist known for channeling his synesthesia in his practice, you will analyze drawing not just as a visual exercise, but as a practice rooted in feeling and perception. The curriculum focuses on how we perceive and “feel” colour, both directly from observation and through memory, to enrich your visual vocabulary. You will develop a variety of techniques that challenge traditional drawing limits, all while maintaining a foundational understanding of composition. Through focused exercises, this course encourages you to refine your intuitive process, leading to truly unique and expressive artwork.
