Workshops at ARAS
Led by guest artists and senior faculty, who share their professional practice. These are the formats we run most often. We add new ones through the year with visiting artists, from drawing days at the Gardiner Museum to digital photography.
Masterclass: Plein air painting

Learn the skills of painting outdoors from an award-winning artist and member of the Ontario Society of Artists: live demonstrations, personalized feedback, composition, light and atmosphere.
Resin pour
Suited for: all levels
Pouring, layering and finishing resin pieces in a one-day studio session.
Life drawing
Suited for: some drawing experience
Working from a live model on gesture, anatomy and form, with short poses building to long studies.
Watercolour and gouache
Suited for: absolute beginners to seasoned artists
Wet-on-wet technique, colour mixing and opaque layering.
