Join us for an intensified version of our popular "Drawing for Beginners" course, led by the talented Rachel Crummey. This condensed program is designed for those eager to immerse themselves in the world of drawing within a shorter time frame, making it ideal for beginners, the apprehensive, and the creatively curious. Drawing not only enhances concentration but also serves as a soothing practice that lays the groundwork for a fulfilling visual arts journey.
Inspired by the teachings of renowned drawing instructor Betty Edwards and MacArthur Genius artist Lynda Barry, this course invites students to explore and express their unique creative voices through a series of dynamic exercises. Participants will build confidence in observational drawing while experimenting with abstract and improvisational techniques. The curriculum encompasses essential skills such as contour drawing, shading, and the use of various media, including graphite, pen, and coloured pencils. Emphasizing mindfulness and sensory awareness, this course encourages students to slow down, observe with precision, and experience the transformative therapeutic benefits of drawing. Dive in and unleash your creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment!
