The Art of Letting Go: Intuitive & Abstract Painting
Dive into a world of bold abstraction and intuitive painting. Break free from traditional constraints, experiment with diverse mediums, and discover your unique artistic voice. This course empowers artists at all levels to paint with confidence, spontaneity, and raw emotion.
This course invites you to lean into your artistic intuition and break free from traditional constraints in this transformative painting course. Designed to nurture confidence and self-expression, students will explore bold abstraction, gestural mark-making, and dynamic compositions that capture the essence of a subject rather than its literal form.
Through an experimental approach, you’ll learn techniques and strategies to see your subject matter in a new way, translating it onto canvas through a unique, intuitive lens. By harnessing abstraction, you’ll move beyond representation, using colour, contrast, movement, and composition to evoke emotion and energy in your work.
Working with a variety of mediums and surfaces, including canvas, cradled panels, and watercolour paper, you’ll discover how texture, layering, and graphic impact shape the visual language of your paintings. Rather than following rigid rules, this course encourages spontaneity, instinct, and personal expression, helping you develop a distinctive and authentic artistic voice.
With a focus on freedom, experimentation, and creative risk-taking, this course is perfect for artists of all levels who want to loosen their approach and paint with confidence. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter looking to expand your practice, this course will inspire you to embrace the unknown and create with intuition and originality.
